Our 'Lincoln' Sliding Gate with Wooden Feather Edge Cladding - Electric Automated sliding gate at a Domestic Property

Secure21 ltd where contacted by Roy & Sonia who were recommended by a local business, Steve of MFS fencing. The install had to be a quick turn around as a new drive was being lay in a matter of weeks

The challenge

The existing automated was a hydraulic dual swing gate which upon inspection we deemed dangerous and were no longer fit for purpose.

We recommended our “Lincoln Sliding Gate” which is built from 100 x 50 4mm steel, this makes for a very strong gate, we usually clad the gate with a wood look composite but Sonia wanted a wooden feather edge cladding to match the surrounding fencing recently installed by MFS Fencing.

Installation

Once the steel work and fabrication has been completed, we send it all for zinc and powder coating in the colour our client had specified, installation then followed.

We pride ourselves on minimum disruption to our clients and their surrounding grounds when installing.

We installed the ground rail, an end stop, 2 pairs of support posts, motor with motor bracket and ran the wiring for all the safety sensors, edges and intercom.

The access to the property is controlled by GSM intercom, keypad and gate fobs.

THE SOLUTION

Our customer was informed that they couldn’t have a sliding gate due to the huge angle of the drive.

We built the bottom of the gate to the angle of the drive with the top of the gate level, we also lay the ground rail steel at a lesser angle to smooth out the travel of the gate. This helped with the drive being relay as once the steel was in the ground the new level could be made to suit the driveway.

This gave our customer maximum use of their drive using a sliding gate over a swing gate whilst maintaining a very safe and secure installation.

Conclusion

Our client was extremely happy with our work and their new electric automated sliding gate.

On completion we issued our client with a handover pack detailing installation, hazards, and instruction on manual operations, how to operate the gates, declaration of conformity and UKCA mark, risk assessment of gate and force readings.

We like to give our clients all the required information they need to safely manage their sliding gate.

We recommend an annual service to ensure the gate is running smoothly and safely throughout its life.

"This company go above and beyond from start to finish. Such a friendly team who work really hard and are so friendly throughout the whole process - keeping you in the loop. Would highly recommend this company - they have done an outstanding job on our sliding gate and we are very happy with the final product."
