Re-automating and Upgrading an Existing Single Swing Gate to Meet GateSafe Safety Standards.

Re-automating and Upgrading of an Existing Single Swing Gate to Meet GateSafe Safety Standards.

The challenge

Our client came to us for a solution to bring the gate up to modern automation and safety standards without compromising functionality.

The existing single swing gate had very old automation, which would often fail, posing inconvenience to users.

The safety features were outdated or non-existent, potentially creating hazards for pedestrians and vehicles.

Installation

We first went to site and conducted a thorough assessment of the existing gate system, including structural integrity and electrical components, this was to Identify areas where the existing automation could be improved.

Evaluated the site's layout to determine the optimal placement for safety sensors and other essential components.

Collaborated with the client to understand their specific requirements and preferences for the automated gate system.

THE SOLUTION

Firstly we removed all of the old automation and installed a new brushless automated arm and adjusted the bracketry to be compatible with the existing swing gate.

To bring the gate up to safety standards we integrated safety features such as sensors, safety edges, and a warning light to ensure safe operation.

The next job was to implement remote access control options such as keypads on the entry and exit side and key fob controllers for added convenience and security.

Finally we conducted thorough testing to verify the proper functioning of all components and adherence to safety standards, we also provided a handover pack with comprehensive training for the client's personnel on the operation and maintenance of the automated gate system.

For all our installs we offer ongoing support and maintenance services to address any future needs or concerns.

Conclusion

The upgraded automated single swing gate now meets modern GateSafe safety standards, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

Our client now benefits from improved convenience, security, and efficiency with the automated gate system.

By partnering with Secure21, our client successfully transformed their existing unsafe gate into a safe, and reliable access control solution.

This project demonstrates the importance of proactive measures to upgrade existing infrastructure to meet evolving safety requirements and user expectations.
