Our “Stratos” Electric Automated Sliding gate for a Domestic Property

Our “Stratos” Electric Automated Sliding gate for a Domestic Property

The challenge

Car thefts in the area led to our customer wanting a more secure driveway.

The client did not have an existing gate so everything was built from scratch, this involved cutting out the ground and laying a 9 metre steel for the sliding gate to ride on, 4 goal posts to support the sliding gate and 2 posts at the closing end for the end stop, this holds the gate firm in the closed position.

Installation

The initial visit to the premises was to gain as much information from our client and the gates location i.e. measurements and design.

The information gives us everything we need to draw up the blueprints for the gate and groundworks.

This is then sent to the client for confirmation of design and if any changes are needed to be made, then they can instruct us further to finalise any changes.

Once our client is happy we proceed to fabricate the steel gate frame, secure the composite and get to work digging out the ground for the ground rail.

THE SOLUTION

Our client opted for our “Stratos” sliding gate with electric automation and English Oak Composite.

This was built from 100x50 steel with the top section made from 50 box with 100mm circle finials welded in the top.

This gives the gate a secure modern look.

We eagerly got on with the job, designing, and fabricating the sliding gate.

Once the gate was fabricated, we moved on site to conduct the groundworks, installing six posts and wiring two pairs of safety sensors, as well as safety edges to avoid any entrapments.

With any installation, we want to ensure minimal disruption to our client so we take great care.

Conclusion

Our client was delighted with the result as his property was now secure with a “fabulous new gate” as were we. As part of our handover process, all our clients receive a handover pack which details the installation, hazards of automated gates, instructions on manual operations, how to operate the gates, declaration of conformity and UKCA mark, risk assessment of gate and force readings. This gives our clients all the required information they need to safely manage their gates.

We conduct 12-monthly servicing, as per Gate Safe legislation on Domestic properties, to ensure the smooth and safe running of their automated gates.
