Mid-England Barrow - Gate Servicing and Repair

The Secure21 team were contacted by Mid-England Barrow in relation to a gate install that had not been carried out by our team.

We are willing to visit sites with existing gates that have not been installed by us, our fundamental condition is that the gate must be safe. We are stringent on the safety of gates, so before we do any work, we will assess safety to Gate Safe standards, troubleshoot any problems and if safe to do so, we will continue work.

Mid-England Barrow specialises in peaceful eternal resting places for your loved ones on their unique and beautiful grounds. Therefore, ensuring the security and privacy of their premises is of the utmost importance.

The challenge

On the premises, Mid-England barrow had an existing gate installation which had not been fitted by Secure21 and had been there for multiple years. They reached out to us as their gate had stopped working and was impeding their valued clients' experience entering the premises. The challenge was, however, that they did not know what was causing their gate to stop functioning and had, also, not had the gate serviced for more than two years.

Installation

THE SOLUTION

Arriving on-site, we checked the safety of the gate which was up to our agreeable standards and deemed it safe to start troubleshooting the issue. What we found was that the persecutor of their gate problems was a little mouse. Opening the gate motor, we found that over time the mouse had chewed through all the wires, and this had resulted in the malfunction.

We quickly got on to the problem, reconnecting the gate and replacing all the chewed wires and giving the gate a full service.

“The guys at Secure21 were very prompt when we called them to repair our electric gate. They were friendly, helpful and courteous, and repaired the gate quickly.”

Sarah Smart, Mid-England Barrow

At Secure21, we recommend commercial gate servicing every 6-months, in accordance with Gate Safe legislation; this helps prevent issues like this happening as we can capture problems, and little mice, before it results in a gate malfunction.

Conclusion

We have set up a recurring service contract with Mid-England Barrow to service their gates, ensuring they are always running smoothly, and they can continue to provide excellent service to their clients and be assured in the knowledge that their premises are secure and safe.

As part of our handover process, all our clients receive a handover pack which details the installation, hazards of automated gates, instructions on manual operations, how to operate the gates, declaration of conformity and CA mark, risk assessment of gate and force readings. This gives our clients all the required information they need to safely manage their gates.

“Called these guys out as we had an issue with our gate at Mid-England Barrow, came out and diagnosed the fault - a mouse had got into the motor box and caused damage, repaired it and job done, thank you.”

Richard Beeby, Mid-England Barrow
